Four-year-old Potente showed he was back on track with a competitive minor placing in the Ray White Narrogin Maiden (Race 2-1720m) at Narrogin today, after being given every chance in running by EWR stable rider Jason Whiting.

Potente was coming off a poor performance at York on March 27 but we decided to freshen him up slightly following that outing and he relished the 23-day break, producing a much more competitive performance. Did look the winner when hitting the front half-way up the straight, but may have just peaked on his run at his first attempt over 1720 metres.

At this stage Potente’s next assignment may be at the opening meeting of the Northam season on Sunday May 3.
