|Horse||ROLLING SASSO (Kyra Yuill)|
|RACE||2-LIFE MEMBERS MAIDEN (930m)|
|Finished||4 of 9|
Evenly away from b6 and was allowed to find his feet early, drifting back and across to settle 7th (2-wide). Held a similar position in the middle stages and was a fair way from the leader when 7th (4-wide) swinging for home. Wanted to lay in slightly at the top of the straight, but once balanced made up good ground to finish a closing 4th beaten 3-3/4 lengths.
Rolling Sasso produced a satisfactory debut performance at Narrogin yesterday, running on well from seventh at the top of the straight to snatch fourth on the line, making up good ground in the straight. He was the best of the run-on brigade and the race was on-pace dominated, with the first three swinging for home being the first three across the finish line.
We didn’t want to give him a gut-buster and push him forward to be on top of the pace, and Kyra Yuill did everything we asked by getting him to settle off the pace and allowing him to run on in the straight. Kyra gave us a good report post-race, suggesting that if the race was over 1100 metres he probably would have won. She was happy with the feel he gave her, but did say he still has a bit to learn, which is to be expected on debut.
We will assess him after he recovers from this outing but will more than likely head towards the All Aged Maiden (1200m) at Pinjarra on Sunday May 31.
